About the painting:
This is a watercolor painting of my horse Sasha. She was my therapeutic riding horse, and was the calmest and sweetest horse I had ever met. She really loved people, especially kids and people with disabilities. I painted this about a week after she died. I wanted to capture a spirit-like essence in this picture so I tried a technique I hadn't before. Mixing water into the paint, I blew it around with a straw on the canvas to get that cloudy, dripping effect.
